“Wow! Look what God did!!!”
Pastors, what was your “Wow” from this past Sunday or even today?
Ministry has its share of woes, wars, and worries. Sadly, we may have been blessed with several “wows” and let one woe come into the picture, and we are immediately overcome with the woe instead of the wow! We are fixated on the woe, and we forget the wow!
We need to rejoice and praise the Lord for the “Wows!” These “wows” can be anything where we have seen God at work because God is always at work all around us. The size of the “wow” does not matter because it is always awesome because it comes from the hand of God!
One my “wows” happened last Saturday attending a Pastor Appreciation Banquet sponsored by our local Gideons. The “wow” was hearing of a young lady, when at the age of 15 read a Gideon Bible in Kenya and received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Now, 25, she has had the joy of leading ten or more of her family to Christ using that same Bible, the Word of God!!
Pastor, your “wow” every Sunday is the power of God’s living, heart-changing Word that always accomplishes what God so intended. So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void (without fruit), but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:11). You most likely will not see the fruit right away or even in your lifetime, but trust His Word!! Be awed by His Word!! Be wowed by His Word; the living and active Word of God (Hebrews 4:12).
Pastor friend, preach the Word, teach the Word, expound the Word, explain the Word, apply the Word, all in the context of the passage as God so arranged! Let those gathered hear the Word, not you. Be “wowed” by the Word, not the results!!
So, pastors, what is your “Wow”? How about sharing it in the comments or send me an email dalewaynecunningham@ gmail.com.
