Wednesday WOW!

“God is always at work around you . . . inviting you to join Him in His work” (Henry Blackaby).

Wednesday WOW is written to remind us, especially pastors, that our transcendent, omnipotent, loving, sovereign God is working today in our lives in thousands of ways. The WOW is God, not the size of the work! How have you seen Him at work in your life today?

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Denise and I had the grace privilege of traveling to California for ministry, and then adding a couple of days of sight-seeing! Wow!

This journey began in the desert at Ironwood Camp, Newberry Springs, CA, where Denise spoke for their Ladies’ Retreat. I had the joy of meeting many of the staff and hearing how God has literally brought about life in a desert place!! I heard of answers to prayer in ways only God could have accomplished.

Saturday morning, Sam Brock, camp director, took me for a God-sized story tour of the grounds! Wow! As we rode around the camp in a 1946 Jeep Willys, he would stop here-and-there and share omnipotent grace blessings all for the glory of God and for the eternal transformation of lives!! We laughed, wept, shared, prayed, rejoiced as our hearts were joined together in the joys of ministry and a new friendship!

“You have to go to Bryce Canyon!!” Having heard those words from several friends, we took their advice and headed north on Sunday afternoon to see God’s magnificent creation! Wow! As we began our trek early Monday morning, we were not disappointed! Denise and I are joining all the others in saying, “You must see this!”

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. (Hebrews 11:3)

Denise and I started at Sunset Point, walked to Sunrise Point and then descended into the canyon on the Navaho Trail. The steep, winding downward trail gave us up close views that were absolutely stunning! We joined the Queens Garden Trail walking through the forest and then ascended back to Sunrise Point. I have eaten lunch on trail in many beautiful places and this would rival them all! As we reached the top, my hiker wife declared, “I made it . . . and with a bit of a migraine.” She’s stout!! Proud of her! Another “Wow” of God’s grace!

We drove to Bryce Point, Paria View, and Inspiration Point. The Upper View of Inspiration Point is well worth the hike up for its WOW views at around 8,500 feet!!!

We have seen so much of God’s handiwork (WOW) on this trip through California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, but may I say that you see His work as soon as you open your eyes every morning and thousands of time throughout your day!!

Ah, Lord God! It is You who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for You. (Jeremiah 32:17)

So, to each one reading this post, what’s your WOW today? Ministry friend, how about you? For all of us, give Him praise! He is worthy!!

For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:16)
