Wednesday WOW!!

Wednesday WOW is written to remind us, especially pastors, that our transcendent, omnipotent, loving, sovereign God is working today in our lives in thousands of ways. The WOW is God, not the size of the work! How have you seen Him at work in your life today?

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! (Psalm 34:8)

The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22).

These two passages describe this past weekend of travel and ministry in Maryland. We saw God at work in so many places and in so many ways! We tasted the goodness of God over and over again, and we came home “rich,” and there was “no sorrow with it!”

A great meal at Hollywood’s, Roanoke, VA, on the way to Maryland.
Grace to endure traffic back-ups in northern VA, WV and MD.
Safety in travel, quick response at 64 years of age, especially going north . . . only the Lord kept an accident from happening in front of us. A woe but a wow, too!!
The gracious welcome of the folk of Mt. Airy Bible Church! Wow!!
The awesome, awesome privilege of staying with the Nedungadi family over the weekend!!! What a thrill to hear how this Indian family came to life in Christ!!!! Then to join them in family worship each night (singing, Bible reading, prayer), and the fabulous food we ate!! Oh my!!! Wow!!!!!
To watch the power of God’s Word go to the heart of the ladies as Denise spoke; to see them broken and repentive before the Lord; to see tears of joy in restoration and praise!
The stroll with Denise through the quaint, Christmas-decorated downtown of Mt. Airy. She needed the time away for an hour or so after giving out so much in ministering to the ladies from Colossians 3. The town was a bit “Hallmarkish” and definitely romantic! Wow!!
The joy of sitting around the dinner table for three hours talking about the goodness of God!! Wow!
Worship at Mt. Airy Bible Church, Christ-centered preaching from 1 John 3, and the fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ with whom we will live forever in Heaven!! Wow!!!!
Beautiful drive home along the scenic route down Route 340. Oh, the sustaining, creative power of our God!!! Wow!!!! 2 Cor. 9:8!!!!
The calming joy of returning home to East TN!! Thank you, Lord!! You are so good!!! Wow!!
Then, the added blessing of enjoying a good meal and great fellowship on Monday with our ministry friends from the Basque region of Spain, Andy and Mimi Bonikowsky!! Wow!!!
Seeing God answer a HUGE prayer request on Monday night!!! Wow!!!!

God is always at work all around us!! He is inviting us to join Him in His work! Look for His WOWS . . . they will always be more than your woes (and He is in the midst of them, too!)
