What is it?
Pray together.
Denise and I have sought to pray each day in particular for D&D Ministry, that the Lord would direct our steps that day, lead us to where He would have us serve, and connect us with the people He so desires. We have watched Him answer in so many ways for His glory and our joy!
Yesterday was no different. After prayer and enjoying our breakfast together, a text came our way asking if Denise could fill in as the speaker at a Ladies’ Retreat. Due to an unforeseen situation, the scheduled speaker had to back out at the last minute.
Just the day before, the Lord had led Denise to go over her notes in preparation for another retreat that’s just around the bend. Making the connections after prayer, we knew what God’s will in heaven was for us on earth and Denise gratefully agreed to the request.
Couples, your marriage will be greatly refreshed and strengthened when you pray together. We can testify!
- Together, we sought the Lord. (That’s always the right step.)
- Together, we acknowledged our dependence on the Lord.
- Together, we surrendered to the sovereign will of God.
- Together, we obeyed the Lord.
- Together, we joined God in His work.
- Together, we rejoiced in the answer.
As a couple:
- pray in the morning together.
- pray before you leave for work.
- pray with each other on the phone during the day.
- pray when life seems overwhelming.
- pray when you don’t know what to do next.
- praise God in prayer for all His benefits and blessings.
- pray before you head out for a trip.
- pray holding hands.
- pray before going to bed.
- thank the Lord for His answers to prayer.
Let US then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that WE may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
