The journey began a few years ago. Having watched many churches and pastors struggle as pastors age into their sixties, seventies, and beyond, my heart was burdened to be prepared for those days. I even said to my wife, “When the time comes for me to depart from the lead pastor role, I’d rather leave too early than too late.”
