A Reset For My Heart

“I’ve been attending Men’s Prayer Advance for twenty-plus years. This is my yearly reset!” These words were spoken by a pastor who understands the value of intentionally setting aside time to seek and meet with the Lord in such a gathering as Men’s Prayer Advance.

My wife knows that Men’s Prayer Advance is a non-negotiable on my yearly calendar. Having attended for many years, she knows the effect upon my life, ministry and our marriage that she strongly encourages me to go. That’s way cool!

Oh, the joy of meeting with 600-700 men who have likewise come to seek the Lord in prayer, singing, prayer, preaching, the Sweet Hour of Prayer, fellowship, prayer, instruction, a revival atmosphere, prayer, transparency, prayer, honesty, singing, prayer, testimonies, rejoicing, prayer, a taste of heaven, and more!

Pastors, you need times of refreshing. You need times of extended, passionate, transparent, dependent prayer. You need other men to encourage you as you pray together, worship together, sing together, eat together, praise together and meet on your knees together under the conviction of the Holy Spirit through the preached Word of God! This you will find at Men’s Prayer Advance!

Pastors, you need times of revival. You get so bogged down and busy by your own expectations of ministry as well as the perceived as well as known expectations of others that your heart can become bitter, hard, uncaring, fearful, worn-out, insensitive, and unforgiving. Your time in the quiet place can be dull and dry, perhaps hurried, lacking in passionate, dependent prayer, and the Word doesn’t stir you. When’s the last time you spent an hour in prayer? You will at Men’s Prayer Advance!

Pastors, you need times of repentance. You need to be rid of distractions so the Holy Spirit can do a work in your heart that leads to confession, repentance, and restoration. Perhaps your discouragement and despondency is due to guilt and unconfessed sin. Perhaps ministry has become mechanical and your sermons a lecture because of a sense of professionalism or “going through the motions” or a lack of true joy in Christ in ministry. A genuine turn around can occur at Men’s Prayer Advance!

Pastors, if you are in need of a season of repentance, revival and refreshing, you can turn your study/office into a place of advance as you surrender to Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God! Then as you continue through this year seeking the Lord’s face and walking in newness of life, you will more than ready to join us in Roanoke, VA, for “Next Level: Onward, Forward, Upward” 2025 Men’s Prayer Advance and a cooperate reset that leads to a personal, spiritual reset in the presence of God for the new year!
